BlowIt Fans (A Personal Cooling Sytstem)

BlowIt Fans (A Personal Cooling Sytstem)
Ok, so this isn't your ordinary house fan, but we thought it was so cool we just had to share it with you. This little wind maker is made by BlowIt Fans). It is made for musicians to be able to attach to microphone stands or equipment to cool themselves off while they are rocking out.

The fan has a 3 speed motor and the airflow can be adjusted on the fly through its directional and angle adjustments. The gooseneck can be positioned in virtually any position, which allows you to use it in really tight spaces.

Please note that it is not a standard house fan, but instead has a clamp that will fit most stands and drum racks.

Found the Personal Cooling System on Amazon for about $69.00

Campout Glass Plates by Nuno Studio

Campout Glass Plates by Nuno Studio
Nuno Studio's Caroline designed the Campout set of hand painted glass plates "as a homage to the Blue Ride Mountains near the artists' home town." We believe she designed them because camping is just awesome. All the same, this set is deliciously original and lovenly independent.

Your Stairs Don't Have to Be Run-of-the-Mill

Your Stairs Don't Have to Be Run-of-the-Mill
New homes come standard with carpeted stairs with rarely any character. That does not mean that your stairs need to suffer that fate. Substituting the carpeted steps with hardwood steps automatically changes things. Add a metal as the balusters, like a high-density wire for example, and you begin to get a knock-out contemporary look. This is what we saw from Paolini's Stairs at the Miami Home Design and Remodeling Show and a reason we fell in love with stair re-design.

The Doorganizer Wants You To Remember Your Crap

The Doorganizer Wants You To Remember Your Crap
At home when my wife wants me to remember something on the way to work, she throws it on the floor right by the door so I won't miss it. It works, but it's not exactly the epitome of organization. The Doorganizer is a better way to do things. You can place keys, small electronics, bills that MUST be paid on time, and whatever else your imagination will allow you conjure up. Four generic colors, camel, black, red and hot pink, allow you to match something in your home.

Available through many retailers including Amazon for about $15.00.

Not Even Your Furniture Likes Rug Burn

Not Even Your Furniture Likes Rug Burn
The easiest way to move furniture is by gliding it across your floor. In the process of sliding and pushing, you also destroy your floor. The Container Store has these sliders called Mighty Mover Furniture Sliders that you place underneath the legs of your furniture so you can slide it across your home without damaging your floor (that's what the description says anyway). You could technically also just place a towel under the legs and go about your business that way, but the foam cushion conforms to the leg and the plastic should make it easier to glide.

At $6.99 for a pack of four 2 1/4 diameter Mighty Mover Furniture Sliders, they don't exactly break the bank.

Pour a Lil' Sugar on Me

Pour a Lil' Sugar on Me
Zevro has come up with an ingenious way to dispense sugar. The Sugar 'n More Dispenser (Model EMY100) allows you to dispense a specific amount of sugar: either 1/4, 1/2, or 1 teaspoon of sugar. You may also alter the sizes by installing 1 of 3 different measurement accessories that come with the package. We find this useful, specially for our daily coffee where we can stick to one set measurement and always get the right sweetness. The Sugar 'n More Dispenser also allows you to set the dispenser to sprinkle or pour, so you don't always get the Niagara falls pour. +1 for usefulness.

Watch Hulu On Your Television

Watch Hulu On Your Television
We rarely speak about computer software here, so excuse us for a moment. MediaMall Technologies recently released PlayOn, a piece of software that allows you to stream Hulu video to your TV via a Playstation 3 or XBOX 360. Hulu is currently a view-on-computer-only affair, so this enables you to watch it comfy on your couch. The computer and gaming systems must be connected to the same network, and you need to follow a few steps to get it working, but the BETA worked well and it allows us to get more entertainment out of our expensive gaming systems. You can also stream YouTube videos with the software and the company has plans to stream Netflix movies as well. For those who felt left in the cold when Netflix announced XBOX 360 exclusivity, this might come as a welcomed announcement.

If you have no idea what Hulu is, visit the Hulu site. The PlayOn beta software can be had at the MediaMall Technologies web site.

Birds in Flight

Birds in Flight
Anna Hennessy is known for her apparel and tote bag prints and designs, but her other designs are worthy of mention as well. One of our favorites? The "birds in flight" bird sculptures. Each sculpture is cast out of hydrostone, which is then sanded and painted. With a wingspan of 17 inches, it is big enough to stand out, but not overpowering. Our recommended space for "birds in flight" bird sculptures? A child's room.

These are limited edition and can be found at Anna Hennessy's web site for $220.
