Team7 Uses Natural Non-Toxic Wood For Furniture

Team7 Uses Natural Non-Toxic Wood For Furniture
Our title sounds a bit ackward does it not? A company using natural wood for furniture is somehow unique? Well, if recent trends are any indication, then yeah, it is. While most furniture companies are using MDF or partical boards, Team7 uses natural solid wood. And instead of finishing the wood off with chemical stains, Team7 uses herbal oils and waxes instead.

It's time we give bedrooms some love and no better way to do it, then with natural wood.

Little Odd Forest Turns On The Cuteness

Little Odd Forest Turns On The Cuteness
We love indie shops because of their unique items like this Chirpy Bird Coasters in brown (chocolate) and yellow. The coasters come as a pair made out of corduroy and are machine-embroidered. Size is what you'd expect from a coaster: 4.5" x 4.5".

Get it at Little Odd Forest.

Toto Neorest Shows Why Toto is in a League of its Own

Toto Neorest Shows Why Toto is in a League of its Own
Toto is a Japanese company known for their outrageous toilet technology -- you know, toilets that spray scents, clean from underneath -- that sort of thing. But, their technology prowess can also be found in their sinks. Their Neorest Lavatory uses SanaGloss Glazing, which basically seals the ceramic smooth so bacteria doesn't collect in tiny holes. Needless to say, this kind of "glaze" allows your sink to be much cleaner than your traditional none SanaGloss sink. The Toto Neorest Lavatory also includes a motion sensor powered faucet that allows you to activate both hot and cold water, while a sexy LED will either turn blue or red depending on the temperature.

MILK Table - A Designer Table

MILK Table - A Designer Table
MILK by designer Søren Kjær is a fantastic example of pushing-design. We are frankly excited by its Apple-like lines: slick and smooth. The functionality is also well thought-out with cubies that serve various purposes like storage or display. One example used by the designer is a fish tank inside one of the table cubies (pictured below). Additionally, there is an area to file papers inside the table itself, cable exists, and even a cable drawer to hide away the ugly wires.

A Modern Mailbox For the Modern World

A Modern Mailbox For the Modern World
Take a stroll through Home Depot and you won't find a mail box that calls out modern design. I should know, I ended up buying a plastic mailbox. Designer Frank Samuels created a stainless steel mailbox, which he called Premier Mailbox. The contrast between the stainless steel body and the cedar plywood is striking. And don't worry about the rain as the mailbox has been coated three times in a UV-protected sealer. The mailbox will set you back $400, and the stainless steel stand another $280, so a cheap mailbox this is not.

Birds in Flight

Birds in Flight
Anna Hennessy is known for her apparel and tote bag prints and designs, but her other designs are worthy of mention as well. One of our favorites? The "birds in flight" bird sculptures. Each sculpture is cast out of hydrostone, which is then sanded and painted. With a wingspan of 17 inches, it is big enough to stand out, but not overpowering. Our recommended space for "birds in flight" bird sculptures? A child's room.

These are limited edition and can be found at Anna Hennessy's web site for $220.

The Silver Lining

The Silver Lining
You'll be lucky to find silver shelves at a local retailer, let alone a wall shelf that has a brush chrome finish. By a stroke of grand luck we found a brush chrome finished wall shelf drowning deep in the sea of espresso, black and white shelves. Not only did we find the silver shelves, but we found them in three useful sizes: 36", 24" and 12".

The Gods smiled upon us, at the unlikeliest of places, the Target web site.

This Recyled Tin Mirror Has it Going On

This Recyled Tin Mirror Has it Going On
The main draw here is the international patchwork of recycled iron sheet packing reflecting a plethora of products. Each mirror has its own distinct pattern of materials, so every one is unique in its own way. A 17-inch square mirror and a wood composite frame rounds up the design. In total the mirror and frame take up 30 square inches of goodness.

New Tassimo Coffee Machine Coming this Fall - Now From Bosch
A lot of people have gone ga-ga over the Tassimo Brewer including ourselves. The drool will probably continue to spew in September when the new Tassimo (now a Bosch product) hits the U.S. market. There will be two different SKU available: a $139.99 version for sale only at specialty and department stores and a $99.99 version available at mass merchandise stores.
